A Nigerian by name Olatunbo has begged the Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad to inform the president that Nigerians love the new proposed name ‘United African Republic’.
Olatunbo who was replying under a tweet made by Bashir Ahmad urged him to inform Buhari that the proposed United African Republic is accepted.
Recall that the House of Representatives Special Committee on Constitution Review received a proposal by Adeleye Jokotoye, a tax consultant to the committee at the South West zonal public hearing, to change the country’s name from Nigeria to United African Republic.
The proposal received mixed reactions from Nigerians with majority of them saying that a change of name is not the solution to insecurity and hardship in the country.
Bashir Ahmad took to his Twitter handle to lament how people are accusing Buhari for the name change proposal, whereas the president has no hand in it.
Reacting to this, Olatunbo told him that Nigerians love the new name.
