Senator Ben Bruce has offered to make peace between President Buhari and Bishop Kukah
Bishop Mathew Kukah is the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto and a strong critic of President Buhari’s administration.
Recall that Bishop Kukah had accused President Buhari of deliberately sacrificing the dreams of Nigerians to institutionalize northern hegemony.
He said under Buhari’s government, Nigeria appeared to be heading for darkness with the citizens travelling in a rudderless ship without any destination in sight.
This of course has generated an uproar in the Northern part of the country which eventually triggered a response from the federal government.
Former Senator Ben Bruce has offered to mediate peace between President Buhari and Bishop Kukah.
Speaking through his Twitter account the former senator said being a Catholic member and in the interest of Nigeria and peaceful coexistence, he has offered to bring rhe two people together.
I’m catholic, and so is Bishop Kukah. The religious faith in Nigeria is vital to our coexistence and must be seen as such. I, therefore, offer myself to bring together Bishop Kukah and President @MBuhari in the interest of Nigeria for a better understanding of each other. He said.
