The Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-olu just commissioned the 118-bed Isolation Center, at the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos.
Governor Babajide said an existing facility within the Gbagada General Hospital complex which was not in use was converted to the 118-bed bio-security complaint Isolation & treatment facility after an extensive renovation and upgrade was carried out.
Within the three-floor Isolation and Treatment facility are dedicated intensive care isolation units, ventilators, monitors, respirators, mobile x-ray, ultrasound, oxygen amongst other ultra-modern medical equipment.
He explained that the facility which is now designated for management of COVID19 cases has been demarcated into Green, Yellow and Red Zones in line with Infection Prevention and Control management.
Governor Babajide who also used the occasion to celebrate frontline health workers and other allied professionals who are in the fore front of the COVID19 battle likened them to unsung heroes of the 2020 May Day celebration.

He said the State will continue to ramp up its bed capacity, increase its isolation bed spaces in both known & undisclosed Isolation facilities & the State would always be ready to admit confirmed COVID19 cases and discharged them after successfull management.
