Kaduna Raid: Bandits Kill Two, kidnap Policeman and Three Others

At least two persons have been killed by gunmen in Mararaban Rido and Juji communities under Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to the information gathered, the armed bandits spent several hours terrorizing the communities.

Finally, they abducted four persons including a policeman and an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

A resident of the area testified that the bandits came in large numbers and shot sporadically in the area.

He confirmed that two people came from a neighbouring community to assist in fighting the gunmen, but were killed in Juji.

He added that while two security operatives were kidnapped from their residences at Maraban Rido.

A 14-year-old girl and one other person were also abducted by the bandits during the incident.

About four months ago, not less than 17 persons were reported killed by gunmen in Gonan-Rogo village, Kufana District, Kajuru Local government Area of Kaduna state.

On August 17, no fewer than 38 persons were killed in separate attacks on two villages in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

The Council Chairman, Emmanuel Adamu, told journalists in Sanga that the attacks were carried out simultaneously.

Mr. Adamu said the gunmen unleashed mayhem on Ankpon Village in Nandu and Kabamu Village in Fadan Karshi, all of Numana district. He said the gunmen killed 38 persons including women and children.

He described the incident as unfortunate

Mr. Adamu condoled with those who lost their loved ones during the attack and urged residents to remain calm.

He said security agencies are tracking the attackers while measures have been adopted to forestall recurrence.
