Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer of Winners Chapel, has responded through his Special Assistant to the criticism surrounding the Sunday service that was held by the church at its International Headquarters, in Ogun State.
Recall that the federal government had banned all open worship and gathering of more than 50 persons in order to curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
However, there were reports that a Sunday service was being held at the Faith Tabernacle, Otta, Ogun State.
The church claimed they spent the whole of the service sensitizing the congregation on the preventive measures and the danger of contracting coronavirus. This according to them was mandatory since almost half of the congregation are may not have access to the internet.
According to them, the church is made up of both literate and illiterate congregants and as such, there is a need to congregate and get them all informed.
