The House of Representatives has requested that the federal government should ban all airlines form coming into Nigeria as well as ban open worship in order to help curtail the spread of the dreaded coronavirus.
The House said the federal government should take a cue from the Saudi Arabia government and the Vatican city which they had banned open worship.
The lawmakers concluded that other countries affected by coronavirus like China, United Kingdom etc., are well resourced and equipped to treat and handle those who are at the risk of the virus and as such the refused considering the return of Nigerians after banning all airlines from coming into Nigeria.
However, the House rejected an amendment to close schools for the next 14 days to prevent the spread of the virus.
The House also banned visitors from coming to the National Assembly and also called on the management of the National Assembly to do a medical test for the members of the National Assembly and their staff.
This will go a long way in fighting the spreading of the virus in Nigeria as the virus is now a global problem and no country can reply say with assurance that they have the solution.
