The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has taken additional measures to protect its staff, visitors and the general public. This was contained in a memo issued a few minutes ago via their official Twitter page, it says that with effect from 24th March 2020, all regular and non-essential activities will be suspended in both the headquarters and all branches all over the country.
This is in line with the directive of the National Center for Disease Control on social distancing, the memo claims. The commission says they will no longer monitor the congresses, meetings, and activities of political parties across the country until further notice.
