Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is to stay put in Madeira where he went to visit his mother who is suffering from stroke and will not fly back to northern Italy because of the news that his team-mate Daniele Rugani has tested positive to Coronavirus.
Ronaldo and Rugani shared the same dressing room during their match against Inter Milan on Sunday which was played behind closed doors.
A picture posted on Instagram by Miralem Pjanic after the game show Ronaldo and Rugani celebrating the victory in a close huddle with their team-mates and this is a worry to Juventus’s medical department and as a result of that, anyone who came in contact with Rugani is to remain on isolation for the time being.
All sporting events in Italy have been canceled until at least April 3 but Juventus is billed to face Lyon in the Champions League next Tuesday.
That game is scheduled to be played behind closed doors but it is now widely expected that UEFA will postpone the match.
