The first lady of the Federation has joined other Nigerians who have been crying that the federal government should shut down all activities throughout the country to help prevent the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
Aisha Buhari took to her official twitter to say this;
“It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work. We should not isolate students and expose their parents. Let us remember that they will meet at home. #TotalLockDown #StayAtHome“
This came in the wake of the news that Atiku Abubakar’s son has tested positive to coronavirus. The public was informed by Atiku through his official twitter page.
See what other Nigerians are saying below;
A total lockdown is impossible in NIGERIA. Not with one room apartments with no sanitary, toiletry and running water provisions. Folks must congregate to share water, shared toilets/ kitchens. Etc. With no credit cards/ platforms, markets will continue to thrive, daily! @FestusGreen
Galactic@KarlMarx55·1hReplying to @FestusGreen and @aishambuhariA total lock down is very possible. All the five stars hotels should be turned into lock down facilities. There’s steady light and food there.
STANLEY SOLOMON A AWOTIDE@soloawo·2hReplying to @aishambuhariThe Nigeria @NGRPresident government should make available about $1billion to Nigerians through GEEP PROGRAM platform @geep_ng They can call it COVID 19 bailout moni or whatever. It’s satanic to restrict people’s movement without access to food at home. @segalink@ProfOsinbajo
Edward .E. Onoriode@Edward_Onoriode·2hReplying to @aishambuhariThe biggest challenge is not to stay at home but the fear of hunger. Many people depends on daily income. If they don’t go out, they can’t feed. So, the struggle now is between HUNGER OR CORONA VIRUS. The govt should give stipends or relieve materials to people for now.
